Guwahati: Assam has bagged several awards at the national level competitions, organised by National Fisheries Development Board this time.
To commemorate the 'World Fisheries Day' Parimal Suklabaidya, the Excise, Transport & Fisheries Minister graced the state level celebrations with the awards at Meen Bhawan, Birubari, Guwahati.
Based on the nominations, Assam has received the awards in the following categories:
Fisheries Minister at this ceremonial event gave away prizes to the winners under various categories viz. Best Fish Farmer, Best Fish Seed Producer, Best Fishery Cooperative & Best Women Enterprise, all at the state level, organised by Assam Fisheries Department. The winners were selected from different parts of the state based on various aspects as judged by department & technical officers.
All the awardees were given Fulamgamocha, memento, chellang, bouquet and a cash prize of Rs. 5000
The event was also attended by Chairperson, FISHFED Sushila Hazarika, Vice-Chairman Dilu Sarma, Commissioner & Secretary, Fisheries Rakesh Kumar & other senior officials, fish farmers, fish industrialists, etc.
