Guwahati: Assam cabinet Minister Sanjoy Kishan on July 11 presented appointment letters to 10 doctors for Employees' State Insurance (ESI) state hospitals and dispensaries under the Labour Welfare Department in Janata Bhawan.
The doctors have been appointed by the state government under the Labour Welfare Department and their services will be placed at these dispensaries and hospitals to provide medical treatment to bonafide workers.
The appointment of the doctors is an important step towards providing affordable medical services to workers who play a crucial role in the growth and development of the state, the state government said in a release.
Kishan congratulated the doctors on their appointment and requested them to render their services with dedication and empathy. He assured the doctors that his department would do everything possible to provide them with a congenial work environment so they could perform their best during duty hours.
He also emphasized the novelty associated with the medical profession and asked the doctors to live up to the expectations and perform their best for the betterment of the state and the nation.
Principal Secretary Labour Welfare Department B. Kalyan Chakravarthy welcomed the doctors to the larger fraternity of the state government and drew their attention to the duties they are expected to perform in the state, especially in light of vast technological innovation and changes in the healthcare delivery system.
