Assam Industry Minister inspects embankment damage in Jorhat

Jorhat: Assam Industry Minister Bimal Bora on Sunday surveyed damages to an embankment caused by the Brahmaputra river in Jorhat, India, and reviewed the progress of repair work by the Department of Water Resources.

The toll due to floods has risen to 78, with over 53,000 in relief camps. Dhubri is the worst-hit district, with 7,54,791 residents suffering due to floods.

He was accompanied by MLAs, district commissioners, police superintendents, and other officials. The Minister interacted with the local population and administration to find sustainable solutions to the issue and urged officials to ensure proper distribution of relief material. He also visited the flood-affected area of Nimatighat early in the day.
