Assam CM hails success of state's start-up ecosystem

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday highlighted the steps taken by the government to develop the state's start-up ecosystem over the last three years.

Himanta Biswa Sarma shared impressive statistics on X that appeared to underscore the growth and dynamism of Assam's startup landscape. 

He revealed that 489 startups have received support from the state government, enabling them to thrive and contribute significantly to the regional economy.

At the same time, 74 startups have been bolstered by a collective grant of Rs 7 crore, providing crucial financial support to help them scale their operations and achieve their business objectives. Assam's incubation centre, 'The Nest', has successfully attracted Rs100 crore in external funding, reflecting investor confidence and the startups' growth potential, he added further.

The startups have collectively generated Rs 40 crore in revenue and created 4900 jobs, he wrote further.
