APDCL lauded for significant progress in infra upgrade

Guwahati: The Assam Power Distribution Corporation (APDCL) has made significant progress in upgrading power infrastructure and distribution in Assam and commencing implementation as per the latest guidelines.

Taking to Twitter, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced this progress made by APDCL. “Inspired by Hon PM Shri @narendramodi Ji’s vision, we’ve concertedly worked on upgrading power infra and distribution in Assam. I thank Union Power Minister Shri RajKSinghIndia ji for acknowledging the efforts of APDCL and giving an impetus to our efforts through enabling support for ensuring affordable electricity in the state,” tweeted Sarma.

Further, APDCL has been sanctioned an impressive amount of Rs 6,287 crore under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme. This scheme, supported by the Government of India, aims to enhance the distribution sector. As part of this assistance, APDCL will receive support for the installation of smart meters and infrastructure upgrades.

These initiatives reflect a concerted effort to ensure affordable and reliable electricity in Assam.
