Ambuja Cements Q2 profit at Rs 473 cr

New Delhi: Ambuja Cements Ltd, a company of the Adani Group, announced a combined net profit of Rs 472.89 crore for the quarter ending in September 2024. According to a regulatory filing by Ambuja Cements Ltd (ACL), the company had reported a profit of Rs 987.24 crore in the July-September period of the previous year. During the September quarter, there was a revenue of Rs 7,516.11 crore, an increase from Rs 7,423.95 crore in the same period last fiscal year.

The financial results for the quarter cannot be compared to the ones from a year ago due to the inclusion of results from Penna Cement, a company acquired during the period. Additionally, ACC's subsidiary purchased Asian Concretes and Cements Ltd. The combined financial results for the quarter and half year ending on September 30, 2024, incorporate PCIL's financial results from the acquisition date. ACL stated that the results for the quarter and half year ending on September 30, 2024, are not comparable. Expenses in the September quarter amounted to Rs 7.023.49 crore in total. In the September quarter, ACL's overall earnings, including additional income, amounted to Rs 7,890.14 crore.

Ambuja Cements' consolidated results incorporate the financial performance of its subsidiary ACC Ltd, in which it has approximately 51 percent ownership, as well as Sanghi Industries, a Gujarat-based company that was acquired by the Adani group last year. In the September quarter, Ambuja Cements' standalone profit after tax amounted to Rs 500.66 crore. The amount was Rs 643.84 crore in the quarter from the previous year. In the initial quarter of FY25, its independent revenue from operations stood at Rs 4,213.24 crore. On Monday, Ambuja Cements Ltd's shares were being traded at Rs 577 each on BSE, showing a 4.27 pc  increase from the last closing price.
