Guwahati: Amid a nationwide push for artificial intelligence (AI) in day-to-day activities, the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) organized an Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme (ESDP) on 'AI and Digital Transformation' at Gauhati University from December 11–15.
"This course has been designed to introduce small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and budding entrepreneurs to the practical applications of generative AI," Bhaskar Jyoti Saud, an Assistant Professor of the EDII, informed Business North East. It prioritizes how AI can help in the smooth functioning of an organisation, document generation, and other essential business processes, he added.
Delivering a speech, he said, “This is the first of its kind program on AI and digital transformation in the entire North East which has given a remarkable outcome in the digital domain.”. He also promised to organize similar entrepreneurial programmes that would boost the financial and social contributions of individuals, he said.
The workshop module included topics like introduction to artificial intelligence and generative AI, document automation with generative AI, customization and quality control, process integration and scaling, beyond document generation, hands-on projects and practical implementation, and land legal and ethical considerations, as Business North East has learned. Participants from diverse backgrounds and domains attended the five-day workshop and acquired knowledge of their specific business contexts.
The program was attended by several professors and dignitaries who lauded the EDII initiative for empowering businesses with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the digital landscape. The guests emphasized the importance of AI and digital adoption for entrepreneurial success and applauded the interactive sessions, which facilitated knowledge sharing and skill development for the participants of the program.
