Assam Showcases Economic Potential At Dubai Road Show Ahead Of Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit

Guwahati: Assam minister Bimal Borah interacted with several business leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs at the roadshow in Dubai ahead of the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit scheduled for February 25-26 in Guwahati. The Minister highlighted several initiatives, such as the Jogighopa Multimodal Logistics Park, which will position Assam as a logistics and trade hub for India’s Northeast. 

These efforts include enhancing inland waterways to facilitate the transport of goods and leveraging Assam’s topographical advantage to foster international trade links with neighbouring and Southeast Asian countries.

Additionally, Bimal Borah emphasized how Assam’s infrastructure development initiatives underline its appeal as a tourist destination, given its vast natural beauty and cultural heritage. The state caters to a variety of tourists, from wildlife enthusiasts to spiritual seekers and those seeking peace and tranquillity amidst nature.

He also spotlighted Assam’s potential as a tourism hub, offering diverse experiences ranging from wildlife adventures to spiritual journeys and serene retreats amidst natural beauty. The state’s rich cultural heritage and breathtaking landscapes make it a paradise for travellers seeking unique experiences.

The Minister concluded the roadshow by reiterating Assam’s investor-friendly policies, strategic location, and ongoing infrastructure projects, which collectively position the state as an attractive destination for Dubai investors to explore emerging markets and lucrative opportunities.

Assam offers limitless economic possibilities with its rich natural resources and topographical advantage, which inspired Prime Minister Narendra Modi to launch the Act East Policy, envisioning Assam as the next growth engine of the nation.

Additionally, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma echoed this vision, leading to amendments in industrial policies that have yielded significant results. According to reports, these efforts have attracted several mega industrial projects worth approximately Rs 50,000 crores, including the establishment of a futuristic Semiconductor ATMP unit by Tata Electronics of Tata Companies, with an investment of over Rs 27,000 crores.
