In recent times,Guwahati has seen a rise in the number of new bakeries and new individuals entering the baking industry. More and more people are opening their own bakeries, bringing new concepts and tastes to their neighborhoods. This has sparked a strong demand for original and top-notch baked goods.

Fresh bakers are emerging to meet the increasing demand. During a conversation with Business Northeast, Rimli Mahanta, a young baking entrepreneur and the owner of Rimli's Guwahati Cooking and Baking Classes, was recognized for her exceptional skills. She was honored with the Global Business Award 2022 for Best Cooking and Baking Class in Northeast and also received the Indians Most Prominent Foods & Hospitality Award 2022 for Best Cooking & Baking Teacher in Guwahati.

In 2016, she embarked on her journey and has effectively coached over 100 students. Her goal is to share her knowledge with the youth in the northeast at affordable course fees. Consequently, the bakery sector is growing in diversity and interest, as more individuals are turning their baking aspirations into thriving ventures.
