Shillong: Two restaurants from the North East — one from Meghalaya and the other from Assam — have bagged the 7th Edition of India’s Most Prominent Food and Hospitality Awards-2023.
The award, conferred by Merit Awards Market Research Pvt Ltd, was presented in New Delhi by top chef Sanjeev Kapoor. Forty restaurants were awarded of which Aiti Belti Trattoria from Shillong and Khorikaa from Guwahati were also the recipients.
Aiti Belti Trattoria received the Best Family Restaurant award for the most popular and tasty local Khasi food. Khorikaa Restaurant got the Best Assamese Cuisine Restaurant of the year 2023.
The awards are a pinnacle of achievement for the food and hospitality sector where restaurants across different categories in the segment, food service players, chefs, food-tech brands and service suppliers were selected on various parameters such as the hospitality services, restaurant menu, service quality, restaurant amenities, restaurant ambience, guest reviews, food taste and other elements of excellence.
The award for Aiti Belti Trattoria was received by Balawanpynskhem Suting, popularly known as Bah Richie, at a ceremony on August 1.
