New Delhi: Tata Motors announced on Tuesday that it has decreased the prices of its electric vehicle models by as much as Rs 3 lakh. The automaker from Mumbai announced price cuts of up to Rs 3 lakh for Nexon EV, Rs 1.2 lakh for Punch EV, and Rs 40,000 for Tiago EV.
Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Chief Commercial Officer Vivek Srivatsa stated that through these exclusive, short-term pricing offers, they are lowering the expensive initial cost hurdle for EVs and making EV prices more competitive with those of traditional petrol and/or diesel vehicles.
He added that the company's sole goal is to popularize EVs by overcoming obstacles and increasing accessibility for average car shoppers. Tata Motors has already declared a reduction in prices varying from Rs 65,000 to Rs 1.8 lakh on its range powered by internal combustion engine that includes models such as Tiago, Nexon, Harrier, and Safari.
